About Us

Discover the rich heritage and vibrant community of our village.

The village panchayat of Chodan-Madel is situated in Boctawado area of Chodan village, in Tiswadi (North Goa). Chodan-Madel is a beautiful heritage village in Goa, surrounded by the serene waters of the Mandovi River. The village is known for its lush greenery, mangroves, traditional khazan lands, and peaceful island environment that reflect the natural beauty of old Goa. It also preserves rich Goan traditions, culture, and biodiversity, making it an important cultural and ecological village.

The village is divided into 9 wards and has a population of around 5,563 people living in about 1,273 households. The people of Chodan-Madel mainly depend on agriculture, fishing, horticulture, transport, and small businesses for their livelihood.

Chodan-Madel is also known for its close connection to nature and heritage conservation. Its traditional houses, local festivals, and farming practices continue to preserve the identity of the village, while nearby bird sanctuaries and mangrove ecosystems add to its environmental importance.
